WARNING: THIS IS A VERY LONG POST!
Okay, so I’m a little delirious now….about 200+ swaps completed in the last 48 hours and more to finish on the plane. However, in less than 24 hours I will be arriving at the Palace….the Salt Lake Palace that is!! I leave tomorrow morning for beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah and Stampin’ Up!’s 20th Anniversary Convention. Now to some this may not seem like a “royal” trip, but for me it’s five luxurious days relaxing and doing something I am passionate about, while reuniting with my stampin’ girlfriends . Plus, I won’t have to cut anyone’s meat, wipe anyone’s nose (or anything else for that matter), or hear someone scream “MOMMYYYYYY!!!!” the second I stray more than 10 feet. Now don’t get me wrong, I love my girls to death and they are THE most important and precious thing in my life ( along with my husband of course)…BUT….a few days away will be so “royally” nice.
Well without further delay…. on to my swaps. As promised, I will be posting pictures of my completed swaps. Please be patient as I am hurriedly trying to finish these, photograph them and upload them to my blog. I will also try to post something daily while I am at convention. That means if you can’t be there, you can read all the exciting announcements right here. I’ll do my best to keep you in the loop with things hot off the press, plus pictures of cool cards, scrapbook layouts and more.
Here is my first completed swap. It’s an “Over the Top” Invitation Only swap hosted by my talented upline, Amy Celona. I have to admit I really struggled to come up with an idea for this one and am not sure if it will meet everyone’s expectations, but here it is anyway. I’ve been wanting to put together a really cool compilation of super stampin’ techniques and this seemed like the perfect opportunity.

I used an empty Accents and Elements tin that I “turned into” a tote thereby calling my project, “TOTE”ally Terrific Techniques…clever, huh??? (LOL) I was only able to include five techniques because that was all that would fit in the tin. I chose the following (in order as shown); embossing resist, gradation, masking, rock-n-roll and chalkboard technique. I created these five cards to demonstrate these techniques.

You can see the tutorials for these on my “Terrific Techniques” page by clicking here. I chose the colors for this project using Stampin’ Up!’s color wheel. I used Tempting Turquoise, Taken with Teal, Certainly Celery, Gable Green, Apricot Appeal, Blush Blossom and Cameo Coral along with the neutral colors, Whisper White and Basic Black. I also used the following stamps sets; Always, Blooming with Love, Priceless and Seeing Spots. Since this post is so long already, I am not going to go into detail about how I created each card. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me (whitev@verizon.net) or post a comment.
Happy Stampin’
